Dr. Crystal Karakochuk has been awarded a 3-year project grant from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.  The project, titled "Folic acid supplementation in children with sickle cell disease: a double-blind randomized crossover trial", will also involve Social Exposome Cluster members Dr. Angela Devlin, Dr. Yvonne Lamers and PhD student Brock Williams, along with co-investigators Dr. Suzanne Vercauteren and Dr. John Wu.

Dr. Sara Mostafavi is a co-investigator on a successful CIHR project grant headed by Dr. Pascal Lavoie titled "Metabolic regulation of immune defenses in newborns".
