Dr. Tao Huan, Assistant Professor with the UBC Department of Chemistry and his team, consisting of Dr. Yaxi Hu and Betty Cai, have had a paper published in the prestigious journal Analytical Chemistry. 

Their paper is entitled "Enhancing metabolome coverage in data-dependent LC-MS/MS analysis through an integrated feature extraction strategy". It describes a novel bioinformatic solution for extracting weak metabolic signals from liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assays, which is the most prominent technique in detecting and quantifying environmental trace-level compounds. This work will make untargeted metabolomic assays more effective and informative, particularly in monitoring environmental exposure compounds for social exposome research.
